TOCA SEABRA

Director of Photography

Toca Seabra began working as a camera man and assistant in dozens of fiction and documentary films for cinema and TV, including: A Idade da Terra (The Age of the Earth) in 1978, directed by Glauber Rocha; Gabriela (1982) and Além da Paixão (Happily Ever After) in 1984, both directed by Bruno Barreto; Orquídea Selvagem (Wild Orchid) in 1989, directed by Zalman King; Anaconda (1996), directed by Luis Llosa; and Buena Sorte (1995), directed by Tânia Lamarca.
He was photography director in the features O Toque do Oboé (The Call of the Oboe) in 1996, directed by Cláudio MacDowell; O Dia da Caça (Hunter’s Moon) in 1997, directed by Alberto Graça; and Oriundi (1998), directed by Ricardo Bravo; and the documentaries O Vale (2000) and Nelson Freire (2002), both by João Moreira Salles.
More recently, he shot Dom (2003), directed by Moacyr Góes; O Outro Lado da Rua (The Other Side of the Street) in 2003, directed by Marcos Bernstein; Cidade Baixa (Lower City) in 2005, directed by Sérgio Machado; and Cão Sem Dono (Stray Dog) in 2007, directed by Beto Brant and Renato Ciasca.
